School Closed for Students on Friday, March 25:  School will be closed for students on Friday, March 25, to allow teachers to participate in professional development.   
Special Guest Speakers this Week!  The Hazen SADD group has invited a special guest speaker, David Flood, to speak to students about school culture, respect and dignity on Tuesday, March 21, and the Stand Up group will represent "Raise Your Voice" on Thursday, March 23.  
Dance on Thursday, March 24! Students are invited to shake off winter for a good cause at a dance to benefit the Friends for A_Dog Foundation on Thursday, March 24, from 7 to 10 PM in the Hazen Gym.  "DJ Mastodon" will provide the entertainment and admission is only $5!  Students wishing to bring a guest must sign them up in the Principal's Office before the end of school on Tuesday, March 22. 
Senior Class Pie Breakfast this Saturday has been cancelled!    The seniors will be scheduling another event soon.
A La Carte items now available in the Hazen Cafeteria!  The Hazen Cafeteria will soon be offering some entrees, healthy snack items and beverages for purchase individually.  A la carte items will be cash sales only or paid for by funds on student account......students may not charge a la carte items.  
Summer 20017 Chinese Cultural Camp.. BECOME A HOST FAMILY OR STUDENT AMBASSADOR!!  The Chinese Cultural Camp is being held in Hardwick this summer and we are looking for host families.  This is a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange.  Chinese students will be here for approximately 11 days.  Exact dates will be known in the next month, but the 11 days will happen during a three week window:  July 20- Aug. 10th.  There is a stipend for hosting and the program is a ton of fun!! Please contact Anna Crytzer if you're interested:  acrytzer@ossu.org or 802-525-4292.

Hazen Drama Presentation for Students TODAY!  The Hazen Drama Club will present the play "Witness" for students today at 1:30 PM in the Hazen Auditorium.  Teachers are asked to bring their students and sit with them during the performance.

Varsity Boys Basketball Division III Final Game at Barre Auditorium!  Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Basketball team for their win against Twin Valley on Thursday.  The Wildcats will return to the Barre Auditorium on Saturday, March 11, at 7:30 PM for the  Division III Championship game against Williamstown.   Wildcat fans wishing to find tickets should contact the Barre Auditorium.  Also, nfhsnetwork.com will live stream play-off games for a modest fee.

Varsity Boys Basketball Semi-Final Game at Barre Auditorium!  Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Basketball team for their resounding success in the play-offs!  The Wildcats will travel to the Barre Auditorium on Thursday, March 9, for a Division III semi-final match up against Twin Valley at 8:15 PM.   Wildcat fans wishing to find tickets should contact the Barre Auditorium.  Also, nfhsnetwork.com will live stream play-off games for a modest fee.

Winter Recess:   School will be closed for Winter Recess and Town Meeting Day from February 27 to March 7, 2017.  Classes will resume on March 8.  
Ski and Ride Sign Up !  The next Ski and Ride Trip to Stowe is scheduled for Wednesday, March 8, the first day back from Winter Break.  Students planning to go on the trip must sign up before the end of the day on Friday outside of Ms. Foster's room.

Hazen Boys Varsity Basketball Senior Night Game Tonight!!  The varsity players are asking all Hazen students and fans to wear black tonight to stand out in a "black out game" against People's Academy.  The JV game starts at 6 PM; the Varsity game starts at 7:30 PM.

Valentine's Day Raffle and Carnation Sale!    There is still time to buy tickets for the Junior Class GIANT Teddy Bear or Valentine's Day chocolate filled heart raffle!  Tickets are 2 for $1 and the lucky winners will be drawn at the end of the school day today!  The Juniors are also selling Valentine's Day carnations today! Looking for a way to remember someone special or say thanks to your BFF?? Carnations are only $2!!  

Black History Month Film:  The PBS documentary, "The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution" will be shown at Hazen on Wednesday, February 15, at 3 PM in the cafeteria.  Sponsored by the Craftsbury Art House, the film will last about one hour with a discussion to follow.  There is no charge to attend and there will be free refreshments.

Debate Tournament at Hazen on Saturday:  The Hazen Debate Team will host a Novice Debate Team Tournament on Saturday, February 11, 2017.  Teams from other schools in Vermont will visit Hazen for a day of competition.  

Valentine's Day Raffle and Carnation Sale!   The Junior Class is selling raffle tickets for a GIANT Teddy Bear or Valentine's Day chocolate filled heart!  Tickets are 2 for $1 and the lucky winners will be drawn on Valentine's Day.  The Juniors will also sell Valentine's Day carnations at Hazen on Tuesday, February 14.  Looking for a way to remember someone special or say thanks to your BFF??
